Biography
Aydın Çukurova is a contemporary Turkish artist who uses transparent and mixed techniques in his paintings. In his layered surface approach, he connects traces of Anatolian and Mediterranean culture with the concepts of memory, image, and light. Following exhibitions titled “Invention,” “Dreams,” “Traces,” “Secrets,” and “Images,” he continued his work with the trilogy “Secrets,” “Sounds,” and “Depths.” He presented the first part of his “Echoes” series at the Istanbul Atatürk Cultural Center in 2004. The depth created by transparent paint layers is one of the fundamental characteristics of the artist's visual language.
