Biography
Ertürk Boyancı was a Turkish painter and educator born in Mersin. He graduated from Mersin Teacher Training School and Marmara University Atatürk Education Institute, and worked in İlhami Demirel's studio. Boyancı participated in numerous exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad, and was one of the founders and a teacher at Ankara Anatolian Fine Arts High School. In his art, he advocated for an avant-garde, pioneering approach that broke away from conventional forms. He also produced works in the field of original printmaking, and his serigraph works were featured in various exhibitions. He received the First Prize in the 1972 Kızılay Inter-University Painting Competition, the Jury Special Award in the 1988 Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Physical Education Painting Competition, and an Honorable Mention in the 1992 State Painting and Sculpture Competition. He passed away in Ankara in 2008 and was buried in Mersin.
