Biography
Yunus Güneş was born in Kiğı in 1950. He graduated from Tunceli Boys' Primary Teacher Training School in 1968; he completed his higher education at the Istanbul Atatürk Education Institute, Department of Painting and Crafts. After working as a painting and crafts teacher in Kırşehir and Istanbul, he was appointed as a lecturer at the Istanbul Atatürk Education Institute, where he taught perspective, technical drawing, and original printmaking. He completed his master's degree at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University with his thesis titled "Narrative Paintings – Ferhat and Şirin, Leyla and Mecnun Lithographs," and his proficiency in art education at Marmara University, Department of Graphic Arts. The artist, who produced the series "Zeynelli Album," "Untold Tales," and "Istanbul Paintings," worked in the fields of woodblock printing, linoleum printing, engraving, and ex libris. He held more than ten solo exhibitions, participated in numerous group and international events, and received three awards in the field of ex libris. He produced original prints within the IMOGA and served as a lecturer at Işık University.
